This is for Jay, first and foremost. She’s 17 years old and received a pair of mouse earrings for Christmas from one of her online friends. (She’s in the Charles/Erik fandom and they signified Charles, who gets represented as a mouse in a lot of fandom references)
Her parents flipped out, ignored the fact that I was willing to have a conversation with them on the phone in order to keep RPing with her via text and email, and completely banned her from the internet. That was months ago, and she still can’t come back. They’ve completely disregarded her assurances that we are RP partners, friends who like the same fandom, and assume that all of us are sexual predators who just want to find where she lives and kidnap her and do unspeakable things to her.
I’m getting sick of this stereotype, I hate that parents assume everyone on the internet is a sexual predator, and their kid is the #1 victim. I feel like this is insulting to the child AND their friends, because you assume that your kid is susceptible and stupid and can’t tell the difference between who is and isn’t a creep.
I’m not saying that there aren’t kids like that, but maybe you should stop assuming your kid is one of them.
We come to the internet to find friends, we come here to find people who like to read and write and draw and make funny faces and horrible photoshop manipulations. We don’t come here to get off, to stalk children or bully anyone.
So please signal boost this, because I want Jay’s parents to realize that there is no reasonfor them to punish their daughter. Not when all she’s done was find friends who like what she likes, and encourage her to write and share her talent with the rest of us.

I support gay rights 110%. However, you can’t shove a way of life down people’s throats! yes this video is very wrong. But not every person HAS to like homosexuals. Just like every person does not HAVE to like redheads, blondes, atheists, black, asians, whites, boy, girls. And there is no way, shape or form nothing wrong with that, AS LONG that the person is not hurting anyone in any way. Which is why this video is wrong. But people need to understand this. Yeah it’s his right to be a bigot, just as it’s my right to hate his fucking guts for promoting hatred against homosexuals, the kind of hatred that turns into violence across our nation. It’s our right to tell him that his destructive fundamentalism has no place in 21st century America.
Not everyone has to like everyone but you have to respect their rights. That’s what his message is about, that gay people don’t deserve the right to serve openly, that non-christian kids don’t deserve the right to a public school free from religious practices (also honestly, what kid is not allowed to celebrate Christmas). You need to understand this, because apparently you don’t.

A Homestuck Giveaway to be exact. Since they seem to be pretty popular.
I just recently got into the fandom about a month or so ago, and I am loving every minute of it. So, being the lame sewing geek I am, I had the urge to make plushies. I ended up making one for myself and a friend, and having a lot of extra fabric left, so these bros up here came about c:
Guys, I’m not really looking for this to become super popular or anything, I just really want these plushies to get a good home. I put a lot of effort into them and as much as I love them, I feel they’d probably be of more use to somebody else out there ;u; They’re both super soft and huggable, and pretty much act like teddy bears! :D I sleep with mine every night, just cuz it’s so fun to hug in bed ^^
Tav is about 29 in tall, Gamzee is 36 in at the top of his hair, 39 in at horn point. They are both made of fleece and Gamzee’s white face is this super fluffy fabric I randomly found at a fabric store. Gamzee’s pant spots are hand sewn also. Both a pretty floppy as well <3

I love those type of friendships that don’t require a lot of effort. We may not see each other as much as we want to or talk as much as we used to, but it doesn’t change the fact that we’re friends no matter what. They can do their own thing and I can do my own thing. What’s important is that whenever we do see each other again, we can pick up right from where we left off without making it awkward. Any friendship that works out like that is a friendship worth having.
